Alternative Christian rock band, ACQUITTED was formed in
February 2002.
There are four members of the band, David Seel (lead singer/rhythm guitar), Colin McBurney (bass guitar),
Andrew Taylor (lead guitar) and Barry Dougall (drums).
Their style of music is modern rock, which
is crisp and heavy, with influences from bands like CREED and P.O.D.
Acquitted started recording the first EP in
December 2002. The EP 'Secure' was launched at a concert in Falkirk Baptist Church, on the 17th May 2003, which was a huge
success. The band has played at various venues across Scotland including a gig at Edinburgh Festival 2003, The Martell in
Falkirk - playing in the 'Battle of the Bands' final, The 13th Note in Glasgow, Westport Bar Dundee, 'Waken the Dead' festival
in Livingston and Sound Central Festival in Stirling, to name a few. In addition to this Acquitted featured on BBC Radio Gaelic
on the 'Rapal' show.
The aim of the band is to break the misconceptions
of Christian music today. The songs are about the band members' past and present experiences in life relating to their own
faith.

Band members' biographies
David Seel (26)
David's musical influences
range from Eric Clapton & Bon-Jovi to Creed & Pillar. There are many different characteristics to his playing and
singing styles. He began playing guitar at 13 years of age, is self-taught, and at 16 he formed his first band and has played
in several bands on and off since.
David formed Acquitted in February 2002, after
a conversation with Barry in October 2001. At this time, both had a desire to use their musical talents to write songs about
life experiences in relation to their faith. David has since seen changes in the band's personnel and through this has seen
it move forward and believes Acquitted is now musically stronger than ever.
Barry Dougall (30)
Barry plays drums in
the band and along with David, writes the original material.
He started playing drums when he was 13 years
of age, is self-taught and his playing style is based on heavy rock.
Barry has been influenced by legendary drummers
such as Tico Torres of Bon-Jovi and Simon Philips, currently with Toto. Musically he enjoys Journey, Whitesnake, Creed and
P.O.D, to name and few.
Colin McBurney (37)
Colin is the only member
of the band not from Falkirk. His musical influences are Saxon, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams and Bon-Jovi.
Colin started playing guitar at 9 years of
age, and at 28 he also started playing Bass Guitar. He too has played in several bands, although Acquitted will be his first
working solely on original material.
Andrew Taylor (18)
Andrew is the newest
member having joined the band in July 2002.
His musical influences are Joe Satriani and
Steve Vai and Creed. Andrew started playing guitar at 15 years of age, is self-taught and his playing style is a mix of heavy
rock and metal.
Having played in other bands, Acquitted is
his first attempt at concentrating on original material.
